JAMMU, Feb 16: A delegation of J&K Accounts Employees Association led by its president J S Charak called on the Director General Accounts and Treasuries, Finance Department and submitted a memorandum of demands to him.
The demands included fixation of seniority at the level of junior scale accounts officer, creation of posts of various departments, extension of recommendations of 6th Pay Commission in respect of J&K Accounts Subordinate Service, Class I Assistant Accounts Officer, regularization of services of I/C AAOs, I/C AOs and I/C CAOs and grant of Selection scale to the accounts officers, declaration of accounts service as technical, settlement of pending cases under SRO 43, implementation of transfer policy, induction of subordinate account service personnel in other services i. e in GAD and other departments as well, promotion avenues for assistant programmers, data entry operators and inclusion of an officer in the Departmental Promotion Committee who scaled from the sub ordinate service to watch the interest of the subordinate cadre members for early redressal of demands.
During the discussions other issues such as pros and cons on the cadre strength of the Sub Ordinate Accounts personnel due to disbanding of treasuries and adoption of new system of pay and accounts offices was also discussed in detail.
The delegation also apprised DG about the holding of fresh elections of the Association for which membership drive has already been launched. The DG assured the settlement of the demands.
The other members of the delegation included Lal Chand Sharma, Adarsh Sharma, Kamal Singh Pathania, Subash Chander, Kewal Kishore, Vijay Sharma, Rajesh Sharma and Rakesh.
