Directorate of Indian System of Medicines in the State has issued around 300 fraudulent Dawasaz Diploma certificates to youth across the State some of them later on found employment with Health Department under National Rural Health Mission (NRHM). Inquiry conducted by Joint Director Health and Medical Education Department and Additional Secretary to Government Health and Medical Education in this case has given clean chit to the Director ISM but an RTI has exposed this botched up inquiry. Several cases of fraudulent issuance of certificates have become known, and the Crime Branch is investigating the case of one of the culprit, namely Majid Khan, to look into whether the certificate has been issued by the Director ISM fraudulently or the candidate has managed it himself.
It is premature to make a judgment about this case. Nevertheless, this is not the first case of its kind in which fake educational qualification certificate has been submitted or false entries are made in documents. The Secretarial staff would try to save the situation by denying any fraudulent element in the act. However, people will not remain content with that. The Crime Branch should conduct fast enquiry and bring the blame to the actual culprit for proper disciplinary action.
