JAMMU, Jan 15: Director Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Jammu and Kashmir Shakti Pathak today attended the concluding day of a five-day painting exhibition organised by Kala Kendra to mark 50 years of the artistic journey of renowned artist Bhushan Kesar.
Addressing the gathering, Pathak said art plays a vital role in reflecting culture, identity and social consciousness.
He described Bhushan Kesar as a symbol of dedication and consistency, who has spent decades nurturing artistic talent and spreading awareness about art among generations of learners.
He also appreciated the high standard and diversity of artworks displayed in the exhibition and congratulated Kala Kendra for organising a meaningful cultural event.
The exhibition catalogue was formally released on the occasion.
Earlier, Secretary Kala Kendra Dr Javaid Rahi said the exhibition was conceived as a tribute to Bhushan Kesar for his lifelong contribution to art education in Jammu.
He informed that 110 artworks by 40 artists from different parts of Jammu and Kashmir were displayed, showcasing varied themes and styles.
Eminent art historian Dr Lalit Gupta said Bhushan Kesar is among the leading artists of the region and has devoted his entire life to teaching art to people of all age groups, from children to senior citizens.
He added that despite health challenges, Kesar has continued to contribute actively to the field.
The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks presented by Ankush Kesar.
