An ACB official said the case stemmed from FIR number 18/2014 registered under the J&K Prevention of Corruption Act and Section 120-B RPC at Police Station Vigilance Organisation (now ACB).
He said the charge sheet, filed before the Court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption Jammu, has named former JDA VC Vinod Sharma, his wife Mamta Sharma, Ghany Sham, then Naib Tehsildar JDA (now retired and deceased), and Rishi Kumar, then Patwari JDA (also retired and deceased).
According to him, the case was originally investigated by the Vigilance Organization, now known as ACB, following allegations of misuse of official position.
Quoting the investigation, the ACB official said, the accused in connivance with JDA officials facilitated the illegal allotment of Plot number 42, Sector-1A, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
It was also found that Mamta Sharma had encroached upon an additional 4,300 square feet of adjoining land, allegedly with the help of her husband and officials of the authority, he said.
“The probe revealed that this was done through abuse of official position and manipulation of records,” he said.
The ACB official said the court has fixed December 15, 2025, as the next date of hearing in the matter.
