ANANTNAG, May 29: Upliftment of academic standards with extra co-curricular activities are on priority of the present Government.
This was stated by Minister of State for Education and Information Priya Sethi while inspecting various educational institutions of District Anantnag. She was accompanied by District Development Commissioner Anantnag, Director School Education Kashmir, besides other concerned officers.
Priya Sethi visited Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School Anantnag and interacted with the students and enquired about their academics besides needs and problems. She urged the girl students to opt for the career based streams and not to adhere to the traditional ones.
She also visited Middle School Khandipahari located at far flung area and directed for finalizing the land acquisition dispute there so that additional accommodation and toilet facilities can be arranged for the school.
Mrs. Sethi also visited District Institute of Education and Trainings Anantnag and took a detailed review of the available facilities there. She showed dismay over the condition of the infrastructure of the main building and directed for its early renovation.
Earlier, various employee unions also met the Minister which include K.P. Colony Welfare Forum and K.P. Colony Vessu Welfare Forum.
Priya Sethi gave patient hearing to the deputations and assured early disposal of their problems.
