ABVP raises concerns over disproportionate vacation periods

JAMMU, June 7: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has expressed deep disappointment and frustration over the glaring disparity in vacation periods between the summer and winter zones in the Union Territory.
“While the Kashmir division enjoys a 74-day winter break, the Jammu division is only granted a 35-day summer break, highlighting a clear case of discrimination by the Education Department,” said Sannak Shrivats, State Secretary, ABVP Jammu Kashmir.
He claimed that this disparity is a stark reminder of the unequal treatment meted out to the Jammu division in various matters, including transfers. It is unacceptable that the Jammu division faces such injustices, and the ABVP demands immediate rectification of this anomaly, he added.
Stressing that a uniform vacation policy is the need of the hour, taking into account the requirements of both summer and winter zones, the ABVP leader urged the Education Department to prioritize improving education infrastructure and standards. It’s time for fair and equitable treatment for all students in Jammu and Kashmir, he added.
