JAMMU, Aug 11: Demanding relaxation in 7th semester admission norms, ABVP activists and students of Cluster University Jammu today held a strong protest demonstration on the campus, here today.
Shouting slogans , the protesting students assembled in front of the Vice-Chancellor’s office and staged a dharna in support of their demand.
They were demanding 50 percent credit-based eligibility criteria for admission to 7th semester under National Education Policy (NEP)-2020. They were seeking parity with Cluster University Srinagar where 50 percent credit score is required for admission to 7th semester.
“Contrary to Srinagar, Cluster University Jammu norms say that there should be no backlog in all the semesters for admission to 7th semester, which is not fair,” said the ABVP activists.
The protest dharna continued for more than an hour, during which the students kept raising slogans in support of their demand.
Before dispersing off, the students submitted a memorandum to the university authorities and vowed to continue the protest if their demand is not conceded.
