ABVP opposes construction of oxygen generation plant

RAMBAN, Aug 26: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) continued their protest for the third consecutive day here opposing the construction of oxygen generation plant in the premises of Government school.
A large number of ABVP activists assembled in the premises of Government Model Higher Secondary School and staged protest. The activists opposed the construction of the oxygen generation plant in the school premises.
One of the protestors while talking to the media said that the Science Lab of the school is being converted into oxygen generation plant, which affects the studies of the students. “We will not allow the construction of the plant in the school premises”, he added.
On getting information, police team rushed to the spot for negotiation with the protestors. As the talks failed, the protestors turned violent and the cops detained them.
Later, more activists of ABVP assembled outside the Police Station Ramban and demanded release of the detained protestors. The detained protestors were not released till last reports were compiled.
However, Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Ramban Dr Javed Ahmed Zargar said that there was additional requirement of the oxygen in the hospital and this plant was being constructed to fulfil the need of the oxygen, so as to save the life of the people from the deadly COVID pandemic.
He appealed to the people to cooperate with the administration for the construction of the plant.
