JAMMU, Apr 3: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Central University of Jammu unit submitted memorandum to Dean Students Welfare Prof Ritu Bakshi regarding the transportation facilities of the University and sought the issue be taken up with the CEO Jammu Smart City Project, DC Samba and Kathua.
ABVP CU Jammu unit President Manoj Verma said that JKSRTC Bus which was running from Ambphalla to University has been stopped by the authorities and no bus was presently running on this route.
He said that Government of Jammu Kashmir recently started e-Buses Services on various routes in Jammu under Smart City Project and one such route is Ambphalla (Jammu) to Badhori which is around 4 Km away from Central University campus. He urged the university to put forth their demand before the CEO, Jammu Smart City Project and other concerned authorities for extending the e-Bus Service to Central University Jammu campus i.e., from Ambphalla (Jammu) to Central University Jammu via Smailpur, Badhori.
ABVP also proposed one more route of e-Bus i.e., from Ambphalla (Jammu) to Central University Jammu via Bari Brahmana, Sarore, Rahya Morh and said that this route will be beneficial for other students also who are coming from Samba, Kathua and other local areas.
ABVP CU Jammu unit Secretary Abhishek Choudhary said that University is facing lack of transport from the starting days. “There is no public transport to university due to which students and other people coming to university are facing problems. Also there is no bus service to university from Kathua and Samba, Students coming from these areas have to change buses twice which is time consuming and expensive,” he said.
ABVP requested DSW to put forth this demand to DC Samba, DC Kathua and other concerned authorities to solve the local transport problems and to start the JKSRTC Bus service from Samba and Kathua to Central University Jammu which will help the students coming from these areas.
The ABVP delegation comprised of Shivangi, Ritika, Vaishali, Meenakshi, Rashu, Aastha, Pallavi, Mahendar, Arsh and others.
