JAMMU, Apr 3: Against the failure of government to regularize the services of Safai Karamcharis, a protest staged by the Akhil Bhartiya Safai Mazdoor Sangh (ABSMS) was held here today. Click here to watch video
Speaking on the occasion, the leaders of ABSMS said, “There are number of employees, who are working in the JMC, but none of them has been regularized. Many times, we staged the protest but the administration failed to address our demands.”
“We are demanding for implementation of Minimum Wages Act for safai karamcharies, framing of a policy for our regularisaiton and to end the contract system in the corporation, but nothing has been done by the government to fulfill our demands, as the result we are forced to come on the roads,” they added.
The safai karamcharis further urged the government to fulfill their demands earliest.
