JAMMU, Oct 5: Jammu Police has achieved a breakthrough with the arrest of an absconding drug peddler wanted in a narcotics case.
The arrest was made by a police team from Police Post Narwal, acting on specific information under the supervision of the Incharge Police Post Narwal and assisted by other officials.
The accused had been evading arrest in connection with Case FIR Number 273/25 registered under Sections 8/21/22/27A/29 of the NDPS Act and 111 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
During the earlier investigation of the case, police had recovered 31 grams of heroin-like substance, Rs 21,270 in cash, and an electronic weighing scale, believed to have been used in the drug trade.
The arrested individual has been identified as Bablu, son of Jony, resident of Rajiv Nagar (Boot Polish Mohalla), Narwal, District Jammu. His apprehension marks a significant step in the ongoing efforts of Jammu Police to crack down on the menace of drug peddling and bring absconders to justice.
Further investigation into the case is underway.
