JAMMU, Dec 4: Police Station City Jammu has arrested an accused who had been absconding since 2023 in a cheating case involving Rs 10 lakh.
The accused, identified as Farooq Khan, son of Mohammad Hussain and a resident of Kakora, Manjakote in Rajouri district, was wanted in FIR Number 61/2023 under Sections 328 and 382 of the IPC for his alleged involvement in a financial fraud case.
Acting on specific input, a police team from City Police Station apprehended Khan today. The operation was executed by SI G.C. Thappa under the supervision of SHO City Jammu, Inspector Shakti Devi. Senior officers, including SDPO City North Vikram Singh and SP City North Vivek Shekhar, provided overall guidance leading to the successful arrest.
Jammu Police said the action reflects its sustained efforts to trace and apprehend offenders who attempt to evade the law and reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining public trust by acting firmly against criminal elements
