DODA, Jan 10: Police here today arrested an absconder who was evading arrest for the last eight years.
Giving details in this regard, SSP Doda, Sandeep Mehta said that the absconder Nisar Ahmed, son of Abdul Gani, resident of Dooru, district Anantnag was wanted in a case of FIR number 09/2011 registered under Section 420/465/466/467/468/471 IPC at Police Station Thathri.
After completion of investigation of the case, a Challan was produced in the Court and the accused was declared as an absconder and warrant of arrest under Section 512 CrPC was issued against him by the Court of Judicial Magistrate Thathri on February 11, 2017.
On the directions of SSP Doda, a team was constituted with cops from Police Station Thathri which was led by Inspector Suresh Kumar Gautam, SHO Thathri.
After hectic efforts, the team arrested the absconder from Dooru area of Anantnag and produced him before the Court after which he was lodged in Bhaderwah Jail.
