KISHTWAR, Apr 3: Police here today arrested an absconder who was evading arrest for the last five years.
Acting on specific information, cops led by SHO Police Station Kishtwar, Inspector Firdous Ahmed, along with IC Police Post Drabshalla, PSI Bupinder Sharma, under the close supervision of Additional SP Kishtwar, Pardeep Singh Goria and Dy.SP Headquarters Kishtwar, Dr. Ishan Gupta, conducted a well-coordinated raid at a suspected location in Himachal Pradesh and arrested the absconder.
The accused was identified as Avtar Singh, son of Gulab Singh, resident of Thakrai, Tehsil and District Kishtwar and he was wanted in connection with FIR No. 123/2021 registered Under Sections 376/354 IPC and relevant provisions of the POCSO Act at Police Station Kishtwar. He was evading arrest since 2021.
SSP Kishtwar, Naresh Singh has issued a stern warning to all absconders, urging them to surrender before the law at the nearest Police Station. He further emphasized that strict legal action under the relevant provisions of BNSS will be taken against those who continue to evade arrest.
