Absconder held after 26 years

JAMMU, Nov 12: The Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested an absconder who had been evading his arrest for the past 26 years.
Naveen Kousha of Ropar, Punjab, was wanted in connection with an FIR registered in 1999 under sections 304-A, 279, and 337 RPC at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli, but he had been evading his arrest since registration of the case, a police official said.
According to him, a warrant under section 512 CrPC had also been issued against the accused by the court of Munsiff JMIC Jammu.
The police official further said that the accused had settled abroad and become a permanent citizen of the United Kingdom.
Acting on specific intelligence, he said, the accused was arrested today by a team of Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and with the help of various agencies, deported back to India from UK.
