DODA, June 20: Police here today worked out a cheating case registered in FIR No. 71/2023 U/S 403, 420, 379 IPC at Police Station Thathri on July 23, 2023 against one Ajay Kumar, Daleep Kumar, resident of Hoshiarpur, Punjab.
The accused was involved in cheating the complainant by taking possession of his vehicle bearing registration number JK06-9720 along with documents.
As soon as the FIR was registered the accused fled from the area along with the vehicle and was evading arrest since then.
On the directions of SSP Doda, Sandeep Mehta, a special Police team was constituted for the arrest of the absconder.
The team was headed by Dy.SP (Prob.), Afeer Jalal Khan and SHO Police Station Thathri.
The team used all possible means as well as technical help and after hectic efforts arrested the accused from Mendher, Poonch.
Efforts were underway to recover the vehicle bearing registration number JK06-9720 from the accused.
