RAMBAN, Feb 26: Police here today arrested an absconder who was evading arrest for the last 13 years.
Farooq Ahmed, son of Mohd Mirza, resident of Sanasar, District Ramban (presently residing at Majalta, Udhampur), was wanted in a case registered in FIR No. 128/2012 U/S 8/15/29 NDPS Act at Police Station Ramban. A warrant under Section 335 BNSS (previously Section 512 CrPC) was issued against him by the Sessions Court Ramban.
Acting on specific inputs, a team of cops from Police Station Ramban headed by ASI Ravinder Kumar Sharma tracked the absconder at Amritsar and apprehended him.
