DODA, Nov 27: Police here today, under the supervision of SSP Doda, Sandeep Mehta, arrested an absconder who was evading arrest for the last 11 years.
Giving details in this regard, Doda Police informed that the absconder, Romesh Kumar, son of Ram Nath, resident of Boliyan, Tehsil Chiralla, District Doda, was involved in a case registered in FIR No. 07/2014 U/S 420/506 RPC at Police Station Thathri.
The case was also shortlisted for initiation of trial in absentia. Although the Challan in the case was produced before the Court, the accused remained absconding. Consequently, the Court of JMIC Thathri issued a warrant of arrest under Section 512 CrPC.
A team of cops from Police Station Thathri was constituted to arrest him and after arresting him the cops produced him before the Court of law.
