EXCELSIOR HOUSE is a diversified news and information group with expertise spanning nearly six decades in the field of information management. Daily Excelsior — the flagship of the Group — is the largest circulated English daily of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, with a circulation of nearly 3.75 lakh copies, and a wide readership extending into Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and New Delhi.
Having stepped into journalism as a small weekly tabloid, Excelsior was converted into a daily newspaper in 1967 and has since carved a significant niche through in-depth, investigative reporting and its well-read, unbiased editorials.
Our Legacy
Under the leadership of its founder-cum-Editor-in-Chief, S D Rohmetra, Excelsior has been acknowledged with a host of journalistic honours. During the years of turbulence in this sensitive border state, Excelsior withstood threats from all quarters and refused to toe the line of those challenging the very sovereignty of the state.
The organisation has arrangements with several leading national and international publications and news agencies, with well-equipped news bureaus in Jammu, Kashmir and New Delhi.

Excelsior's Internet Edition at dailyexcelsior.com began operations in October 1998 and has since emerged as an important online news source — combining interactive technology with engaging content, consistently ranked as a leading content network in audience size.
In 2010, the E-paper version was launched, received very well by readers across the globe. With continuous investment in digital content and technology, online visits exceed 5 lakh per month and are rapidly growing.
