JAMMU, Dec 26: Akhil Bhartiya Grahak Panchayat Jammu and Kashmir unit today celebrated “Grahak Diwas 2024” by organizing a function in Abhinav Theatre Jammu.
A large gathering of ABGP members from Jammu and other districts besides general public participated in the function, wherein Sat Pal Sharma, President J&K BJP, was the chief guest. Kameshwar Puri ( SP Cyber Crime), Kewal Krishan (Dy Controller Legal Metrology Deptt) and Jayant Katharia, National Joint Secretary ABGP from Ahmedabad were on the dais.
Chief guest Sat Pal Sharma stressed that prosperity of consumer is very essential while SP Kameshwar Puri cautioned the audience to remain vigilant about different scams through mobile and internet.
Kewal Krishan, Dy Controller Legal Metrology Department, cautioned the audience while purchasing of essential commodities in respect of weighing and not to compromise on quality of products. He assured that the department will provide full support to the State unit of ABGP in launching of awareness programme.
Jayant Katharia, National Joint Secretary ABGP, threw light on the various problems of consumers and suggested how to mitigate the grievances. He further stressed to spread awareness amongst the masses.
Earlier, the students of Vidya Bharti Mandir School presented Saraswati Vandana and cultural programme. Thakur Das Sharma, State President ABGP, along with other office bearers/members to the executive body welcomed the eminent dignitaries. Rajeev Bhardwaj, Prant Sangathan Mantri briefed about the performance made by ABGP State unit during the last three years and to deal further with new challenges.
The function concluded with vote of thanks presented by the Jammu Vibhag President ABGP, Manish Sabharwal.
