Aashutosh slams cracking ton as Jammu boys lift U-17 Cricket title

KATHUA, Jan 6: Aashutosh Mahajan slammed a power-packed century as Jammu district thrashed Kathua by a big margin of 90 runs in the Provincial Level Inter-District Cricket Tournament, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports at Sports Stadium, Hiranagar near here today.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Jammu district scored a good total of 189 runs in the stipulated 15 overs, losing 3 wickets in the process.
Aashutosh Mahajan top scored with brilliant 113 runs, studded with 7 fours and 11 sixes, while skipper Arman Sharma contributed unbeaten 31 runs and Manitvya Sharma scored valuable 29 runs to the total.
From Kathua, Ujjwal and Nikhil shared one wicket each.
In reply, Kathua district bundled out for 99 runs, thus lost the match by 90 runs.
Aditya was the top scorer with 23 runs, while Vansh Khadyal contributed 19 runs to the total.
For Jammu district, Sujal Saini was pick of the bowlers, who took 3 wickets, while Rishav bagged 2 wickets. Arman, Keshav and Vikrant claimed one wicket each.
Suresh Singh, BCCI Level-1 Coach accompanied Jammu district as Coach cum Manager.
District Youth Services and Sports Officer Kathua, Sunil Kumar was the chief guest on the closing ceremony, who distributed prizes among the winners and runners-up teams on the occasion, while District Youth Services and Sports Officer Jammu, Sukhdev Raj Sharma congratulated Jammu district team for this achievement.
