AHMEDABAD, Jan 3: Top 300 doctors of the world have turned up at here to from different parts of the globe to participate in the three-day Global Health Care Summit which is under way at Ahmedabab Management Association. The Summit has been organized by the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI) from 2nd to 5th of January Moreover the leading NGOs of India working in the health sector who are supported by the AAPI are also participating in the Summit.
Recognizing its commendable charitable work for the under privileged society in general and for Kashmiri refugees in Particular Shirya Bhatt Mission Hospital Jammu has also been invited in the summit. On the nomination by Dr. K.L.Chowdhury a three member team comprising of Dr.S.L.Kachroo, Vir Ji Bhat and R.K.Pandita also attended the summit and made their presentation which was appreciated by the organizers and other dignitaries present in the summit.
The first session of the Summit was held on January 2 which was presided by Nitinbhai Patel Minister of Health Gujarat, chief guest Vayalar Ravi Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs, other dignitaries on the dice were Dr. Jayesh Shah President AAPI Dr. Nick Shroff Chairman AAPI Foundation, Dr. S.K.Rao Jt. Secretary Ministry of Health Govt. of India, Dr.Vishwas Mehta Jt. Secretary Medical Council of India. The AAPI reiterated their commitment to serve India by providing full cooperation to Govt. for setting up its medical institutions, MCI and other NGOs for serving the people of India.
In the first session today Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, former President of India was the chief guest. Dr.Pankaj Khandelwal was felicitated in the session for his commendable work in medical research. The other dignitaries who spoke on that day were John Meners Executive Vice President Emergency Cardiovascular Care and Global Strategies American Heart Association, Dr. Ramesh Mehta President BAPIO, DrAnwar Feroz Siddiqi AAPI (USA), Dr. Purvesh Parikh (Mumbai).
In Second Session later in the day Narinder Modi Chief Minister of Gujarat was the chief guest. Special Distinguished Leadership Award was presented to Dr.Harash Vardhan, Dr. Shrinivas, Dr. T.Rajeshwari, Dr. Keru Patel.
Besides it, a Photo Exhibition on the achievements/working of the AAPI and its Clinics in India was also held in the Summit.
The closing session will be inaugurated by Gh.Nabi Azad , Minister of Health Government of India tomorrow which will be followed by a Cultural Show organized by the Ahmadabad Medical Association.
