Govt committed to overall development of all regions : Vikar

BANIHAL, Apr 14: Minister of State for Technical Education, Power, CAPD and Information Vikar Rasool Wani said that Government is committed to overall development of all the three regions of the State and several measures have been taken to extend basic amenities to people living in urban and rural areas of the State. The Minister was addressing a well attended public meeting at Khari of Ramsoo block in Banihal tehsil on Saturday.
Mr. Vikar said that number of roads and other development projects taken in hand during last four years of present coalition regime have been completed and many others are in progress. He said number of schools have been opened and many others upgraded and large number of teachers engaged in rural areas so that the educational standard is improved.
Minister announced a bus for college students of Khari area from CDF so that students are provided transport facility. He also announced bridges for Kunji nallah, Hejba, Baba, Aakhran, Dhsan, fifteen more Anganwari centers for Khari area. To improve the power scenario of rural and far flung area, he announced number of transformers for uncovered areas. He further said the matter for opening of Jammu and Kashmir Bank branch and plying of SRTC bus service is already in process.
He said a skill development programme will be started to meet the unemployment problem as well as shortage of trained skill persons in different engineering and other projects under execution in the State.
Later Minister laid the foundation stone of Food Store at Kawana Trigam, to be constructed at a cost of Rs 12 lakh. He also inaugurated the inspection Hut at Khari completed at an amount of Rs 45 lakh constructed by PWD.
