JAMMU, June 17: The dead body of a 22-year-old youth was recovered under mysterious circumstances from Kanachak area of city outskirts, late last night.
“The deceased was identified as Sahil Sharma son of Ram Lal, resident of Malpur, Sua number 1. His body was lying at Malpur near Aap Shambu Temple along bank of River Chenab,” police sources said, the bike of the youth was also lying at some distance on road side.
They said on getting information of the body, SHO Kana Chak Inspector Ravi Singh Parihar and SDPO Domana Kosheen Koul visited the spot. The FSL team and Crime Branch Photographer also reached the spot and collected the evidence after which dead body was shifted to GMC Jammu and handed over to its legal heirs for last rites after postmortem.
They said that inquest proceeding under 174 CrPC was initiated in this connection at police station Kanachak.
