ICccR & HRM organizes internship webinar for MBA (IB) students

JAMMU, June 17: Internat-ional Centre for Cross Cultural Research and Human Resource Management (ICccR & HRM), University of Jammu, in collaboration with AIMA , organized summer internship webinar for the students of MBA (International Business).
The objective of the webinar was to acquaint the students with the understanding of AIMA-Bizlab virtual internship programme and the various processes of the internship journey.
The panellists for the discussion were Rajiv Jangra, Deputy Director-AIMA-New Delhi; Vijay Singh, master trainer -AIMA and Shalini Goyal- from All India Management Association- New Delhi.
Rajiv Jangra, Deputy Director AIMA, addressed the students about the future competencies required by the corporate landscape and the complementary career pathways to be adopted by the students for getting future ready. Presenting the COVID outbreak impact on internships and placements, Rajiv Jangra explicitly stated that the virtual internship programme by AIMA would enable them to develop industry specific competencies that include business decision making, benchmarking, stock price evaluation, balance score card creation, market capitalization and simulation thereby providing practical experience of management to the students from the safety of their homes.
Further, it was stressed upon that in the 6-week long internship, the students would be given a virtual company to manage on the AIMA Bizlab simulation platform that would enable them to research, analyse and make strategically relevant decisions in today’s business scenario.
Vijay Singh, Master Trainer, AIMA, elaborated upon the contents of AIMA-Bizlab virtual internship programme wherein the artificial intelligence powered AI bots will be creating virtual industry scenarios for the students to be managed on day to day basis with automated feedback to the students.
Professor Neetu Andotra, Director, International Centre for Cross Cultural Research and Human Resource Management (ICccR & HRM), University of Jammu, expressed the need for conducting webinar related to the subject matter of internships, as there is an urgency of developing industry relevant skills amongst the student fraternity through the mentors of apex body of management association -AIMA. She stated that the handholding of students by the apex body of management profession-AIMA for the international business students in these disruptive and challenging scenarios will develop requisite corporate skills and competencies amongst the students for managing future corporations.
