Various GDCs organize online quiz competition on different themes

JAMMU, June 13: Various Government Degree Colleges (GDCs) organized online quiz competition on different themes.
Department of Chemistry, GDC Akhnoor organized online inter-collegiate quiz competition on the topic “IR, UV, NMR, Active Methylene Compounds and Catalysis” for the students of 6th Semester across the Colleges of Jammu and Kashmir (UT).
Shilpa Bharti of GCW Udhampur, Ankush Singh of Chandigarh College of Pharmacy and Shiksha Rani of GCW Udhampur bagged Ist position by scoring 100 per cent marks. The second position was clinched by Shabnam Sharma of GDC Akhnoor, Naresh Kumar of MIER Jammu and Charu Gupta of GCW Kathua by scoring 98 per cent marks wherein Shallini Sharma of GDC Akhnoor, Anchana Jamwal of GDC Reasi and Tania Sumbria of GCW Kathua shared the third position by scoring 96 per cent marks.
The event was conducted by Dr Anil Kumar Organizing Secretary and adjudicated by Prof Tarsem Lal, Head, Department of Chemistry under the guidance of Principal of the College.
An Online National Level Quiz Competition on “Solid State Physics” was organized by the Department of Physics of Government Degree College Ramnagar. More than 350 participants from various Colleges and Universities of J&K and outside the UT of J&K took part.
The event was organized by Prof Ajaz Nazir, Head department of Physics (Convener) and Prof Ram Krishan, Assistant Professor of Botany (Organising Secretary) under the guidance of Dr Udhey Bhanu, Principal, GDC Ramnagar.
During the event, e-certificates were also distributed to the participants who secured more than 60 per cent marks in the online quiz competition.
Satish Sharma from GDC Kathua secured top position, Pankaj Sharma from GDC Hiranagar bagged 2nd position and Yasmeen Akhter from GCET Jammu, Samritti Devi from GDC Reasi, Abhinav and Prakarsh from GDC Ramnagar shared 3rd position.
Department of English GDC Nowshera organized inter-collegiate online quiz competition on ”New Literature in English”. Students from various colleges of Jammu division took part in the event with great zeal and enthusiasm.
Afroz Lone from Government PG College, Rajouri bagged 1st position, Swati Choudhary from GDC Nowshera clinched 2nd position and Deepak Khajuria from GDC Sunderbani clinched 3rd position.
The event was conducted by Mehnaz Chowdhary with the support of Sumit Kumar. The competition was organized under the guidance and supervision of Dr Surinder Kumar, Principal, GDC Nowshera.
PG Department of Computer Science and IT, Government PG College Rajouri conducted national level online quiz on computer awareness which was organized under the guidance of the Principal of the College Prof (Dr) Shakeel Ahmed Raina. Prof Abdul Kareem Bajraan, HOD Computer Science and IT, was the convener and Dr Parveen Sadotra was the organizing secretary of the event.
503 participants from different institutions of the country participated in the quiz.
All the qualifying participants who secured more than 50 per cent points were awarded printable e-certificates.
Government Degree College for Women Kathua organized online inter-collegiate quiz competition in the subject ‘Chemistry’ for the students of BSc 6th semester. The quiz was conducted by Prof Babita Jamwal, HoD Chemistry under the supervision of Dr YP Kundal Principal of the college. Prof Raj Kumari was the organizing secretary of the competition.
In the competition, the first position was shared by Charu Gupta of GDC, Gourav Spolia, Bopinder Singh and Bhanu Sharma of Cluster University , while second position was clinched by Tania Sumbria of GCW Kathua and Shanu Sharma of Cluster University. Roshni Devi from GDC Samba bagged third position while Sakul from GDC Ramnagar and Meenakshi Devi from GDC Samba claimed fourth position.
