Adjust daily wagers, casual labourers: Cong

UDHAMPUR, June 11: Senior Congress leader Sumeet Magotra has urged upon the J&K UT Administration to adjust all the daily rated workers and casual labourers as many of them have turned over aged.
In a press statement issued here today, Magotra said all the daily wagers and casual labourers be adjusted without any delay. He also demanded that controversial SRO -202 be withdrawn as it was against the interests of the employees and educated unemployed youth of J&K.
He further disclosed that during conversion of J&K State as UT, then Union Government had declared that 50, 000 jobs will be provided to the unemployed youth of the J&K and in addition of 50000 jobs, over 40,000 jobs are already vacant in J&K for the last six years.
Magotra said Government was violating the principle of `equal pay for equal work’. It is unfortunate our daily wagers, casual labourers and need base workers are serving in different departments for the last more than 20 years and still they have not been regularized.
Now, under fresh recruitment, provision of 5 bonus marks to them is cruel joke with them. He urged upon the Lt Governor to review his decision in this regard.
