JAMMU, May 5: Excise Department sleuths during raids at different places in Rajouri and Kathua area, booked several persons under Excise Act and seized huge quality of liquor and Lahan.
Official sources said that Rajouri-Poonch Excise Range team conducted raid at village Muradpur and nabbed one Anil Kumar, son of Bodh Raj. Nearly 32 litres of Desi liquor and lahan was seized from his possession. He was booked under 48 of J&K Excise Act.
The raids were also conducted at Kangdyal, Dhabwal, Upper Sakthachak, Perso Chak, Banyari, Labdhu Chak, Sunjwan and Chibbe Chak areas of Kathua district.
About 2500 Kgs of lahan, raw material of illicit liquor was recovered and destroyed on spot. Several persons were booked under Excise Act.06
