LEH, Apr 24: The Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Leh, Gyal P. Wangyal and Dy Chairman, Tsering Sandup today convened a meeting of Director Health Services UT, Ladakh, Dr. Phunchok Angchuk and CMO, Leh, Dr. Motup Dorjey to review the status of establishment of COVID-19 Lab at Leh.
Director Health Services UT Ladakh and CMO, Leh apprised the meeting that complete Lab equipment was received from MP Ladakh Jamyang Tsering Namgyal couple of days before from Delhi for establishment of COVID-19 Testing Laboratory in Ladakh and said that besides COVID-19 testing, the new lab will cater number of important tests in Leh itself benefiting patients immensely.
Director Health Ladakh said that he is in close coordination with team of doctors from AIIMS and ICMR who will visit Leh in next five days. He said that all logistics requirements needed in the already identified building for COVID-19 Lab at Chushot is being arranged on war footing. He said that in future the Lab equipment will be incorporated with upcoming Medial College at Leh.
The lab equipment received from MP Ladakh includes Biosafety Cabinet, Deep Freeze – 20 Deg (110 Ltr), Micro – Centrifuge 15000RPM High Speed mini plate RPM, Micro – Centrifuge High Speed mini plate RPM 2pcs, Viral Transport Medium (VTM), Flocked Vortex Mixer, Cryovials 1.8 MI100/box, Cryo Box, Handy Pipette AID 25ml, Disposable Plastic Pipettes 10ml, Forceps, Biomedical Waste Disposal (BMW) Bags, Ice-Boxe with Gel Packs, Tube Rack, Vryovial, Micro Pipette, Sterile Filter Barrier Tips, Filter Barrier Tips, Hand Sanitizer 5000ML, Eppendorf Tubed and PPE Suits and other materials.
