SRINAGAR, Apr 22: Saying that most of the rural areas in Budgam district were facing hardships due to disruption in power supply, Chairman Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) Hakeem Yaseen has urged the Power Development Department (PDD) to restore all the damaged power transformers and transmission lines in the affected areas with urgency, in view of the holy month of ensuing Ramadan.
“Since most of the transformer workshops were closed due to Coronavirus lockdown, a large number of damaged transformers could not be repaired and restored to the respective places, a number of village habitations in Budgam district continue to face non availability of power supply,” Hakeem Yaseen said in a statement issued on Tuesday.
He said there are some villages where transmission lines have fallen from last few months which need to be repaired immediately so as to restore power supply in the affected areas. He has urged the need to restore power supply in the all affected areas so that people don’t face any inconvenience during the month of Ramadan.
Hakeem Yaseen also urged the Government to release wages in favour of daily wagers , seasonal, casual laborers and Hospital Development Fund (HDF) workers on the eve of Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitre adding that these ground level field functionaries remain always on forefront to work for the good of the masses, in any given situations.
PDF Chairman has also asked the district administration Budgam to ensure availability of all essential commodities to the people of the district Budgam during the month of Ramadan.
