REASI, Apr 20: Police today arrested a narcotic smugger from Mahore area and seized contraband substance (cannabis) from his possession.
The accused, namely Nazir Ahmed, age 35 years , resident of village Sarh Bhagga of Tehsil Mahore, was intercepted during checking and frisking by Naka Party at Bagga, when he was coming from Angralla towards Mahore, in an Alto car bearing registration number JK02AD- 1428. During search, nine challis of cannabis were recovered from the car.
Police said that the arrested drug peddler was involved in supplying and selling of narcotic drugs in Mahore, Baddar, Bagga, Sarh, Damini, Sungri and Balmatkote areas of tehsil Mahore.
In this regard, case FIR Number 25/2020, under Section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Mahore and investigation is taken up. During preliminary investigation, it has come to notice that the accused had bought the consignment from Gool area to sell it to the youth of Mahore and surrounding areas.
Recovery was made by SHO Mahore, Mohd Aslam Choudhary, who was assisted by ASI Ashok Kumar and party under the supervision of SDPO Mahore Khalid Ashraf ASP Surjeet Bhagat.
