JAMMU: A fierce gun battle triggered between security forces and militants in hilly Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday.
Police spokesman here said that four days back two SPOs of Kishtwar District were attacked by two suspected militants in Dachan area with Axes killing one of them and injuring another.
“Police parties rushed and gave a chase through jungles and mountainous terrain,” he said.
The spokesman said that the militants were reinforced with additional police parties and local Army unit.
“A contact has been established and exchange of fire started,” he added and said that more details shall follow.
