SAMBA, Apr 6: With total lockdown for 21 days announced by Government of India last month to fight the deadly Corona virus which scared the people all over the globe, some needy people including daily rate workers are at the verge of starvation in Samba district as neither any body from the administration side nor any voluntary organization has approached these families so far with ration and relief.
According to reports some needy families of Samba are facing lot of troubles due to non availability of ration and other essential accommodates and the administration showed no seriousness on this issue. If the system remains same then in coming days they will suffer from hunger, as whatever the food remaining in their houses will be consumed within some days.
The people also question that when the donations are being made liberally to PM CARE Fund and other voluntary organizations for providing relief to the effected poor families who have lost their livelihood due to COVID-19 lockdown why the poor people living in the heart of Samba town have been ignored while distribution of relief.
Reports said that six families in the Ward Number 10 of Samba have not got any relief and ration either from administration or any voluntary body since the announcement of lockdown last month.
Talking to the media persons Bedh Prakash and Surinder Kumar, said “We fed our children by working as daily wagers and since the lockdown, we are not even going to work and our children are starving at our home. We have also run out of money so we can’t buy ration from outside”, he added.
He said that no one has reached our place to distribute the ration, since the lockdown. If the system remains same then in coming days we will die of hunger”, he added.
