JAMMU, Mar 22: Jammu and Kashmir Chapter of Association of Surgeons of India (JAKASI) has appealed its members in particular and surgical fraternity at larger in J&K UT to postpone elective/non-emergent surgeries for few days as India has entered third stage of Coronavirus pandemic.
“The hospital and its staff as well as patients and their relatives are at greater risk of transmitting infection both ways. Increasing number of patients and relatives will exponentially enhance chances of exposure, so cancellation of elective procedures is an important step to flatten the Coronavirus curve,” the Association said in a handout.
The Association requested general masses, community leaders and other healthcare professionals to guide each other about social distancing and safe precautions as has been advised by ICMR and WHO from time to time. They were also urged no to ignore Government advisories regarding Coronavirus pandemic to save humanity from destructions.
