3 drug peddlers arrested with heroin

SAMBA, Feb 6: Continuing its drive against the menace of drugs, district police Samba arrested three drug peddlers and recovered about 10 gms of heroin (Chitta) from their possession in two separate incidents in the jurisdiction of Ramgarh and Bari Brahmana police stations respectively.
A police party of PS Ramgarh laid a surprise raid at checkpoint near Chak Jhanda, Ramgarh and during checking of the vehicles, it intercepted one motorcycle bearing Registration Number JK21F- 4986, which was coming from Ramgarh. During frisking of motorcyclist and pillion rider, a total six grams of heroin (Chitta) was recovered from the possession of both persons, police said.
They were identified as Kuldeep Raj, S/o Kapoor Chand of Ramgarh and Ranju Choudhary S/o Kuldeep Singh of Kathar Arnia, Jammu. Both the drug peddlers were arrested on the spot and contraband item was also seized, police added.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 11/2020 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at PS Ramgarh and investigation taken up.
In a similar incident, a police party of PS, Bari Brahmana while performing patrolling duty in Patli Morh area intercepted a person who was moving under suspicious circumstances. During his frisking, approximately four grams of heroin (Chitta) was recovered from his possession. He was identified as Anil Kumar, S/o Tilak Raj of Gowal, Patli Morh, Bari Brahmana. He was arrested on the spot and contraband item was also seized. A case FIR No. 26/2020 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at P/S Bari Brahmana and investigation started.
