UDHAMPUR, Jan 10: Anil Pachiala, former Secretary PCC, has demanded immediate repair of the 40-kms long Udhampur- Panchari road, which is in extremely bad condition.
Addressing media persons, here today, Anil Pachiala said that lives of commoners in Panchari and nearby villages like Lander -Karcha, Kainth Gali to Moungari- Khorgali were at stakes as the condition of these roads was extremely bad and deteriorating day by day.
“About 40 years back, a small drainage became nullah and later known as ‘ Chobu Nullah’ in between Kainthgali and Panchari Road. Till date lakhs of rupees have been spent to repair this ‘ Chobu Nullah’ without any result,” he said and reminded that a number of lives have been lost there.
Now this road has been completely washed away with the result that school going children have to pass the track on foot as there is no proper bus service suitable to their school time, he added and appealed the Lieutenant Governor to take cognizance of the difficulties being faced by the villagers.
He demanded to build concrete road instead of the common bituminous roads, which used to wash away in rains.
