JKPF accuses Cong of misleading people

JAMMU, Jan 10: Ramesh Sabharwal chairman Jammu Kashmir Peoples Forum (JKPF) today warned the Congress and other opposition parties for creating a communal divide in the country on the name of Citizens Amendment Act (CAA).
Addressing series of meetings here today he said his organization has intensified the campaign to dispel all the doubts created by Congress and other opposition parties on CAA and in this regard a grand rally will be held in Parade on January 12 which will be addressed by some prominent people from the other parts of the country.
He said the rally is for grant of citizenship rights to Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs, Christians and Parsis who are subjected to persecution in three Islamic countries of Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan and it has nothing to do with Indian citizens. He said Congress in its rule has also granted such citizenship rights to people from Bangladesh and Uganda and the former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh is on record in advocating for grant of citizenship rights to these refugees while taking part in a debate in Rajya Sabha.
Sabharwal said the rally will be addressed by galaxy of speakers which included political analyst, Pardeep Bhandari, SC advocate Monika Arora from Delhi and Lt Gen (retd ) Rakesh Kumar Sharma besides him.
