Unemployment, worst economy achievements of BJP: Manohar

KATHUA, Jan 10: Former minister of state and DCC president for Kathua, Dr Manohar Lal today alleged that rising unemployment, falling economy and students unrest, are the major achievements of the BJP Government.
Addressing workers’ meeting at Billawar today, Sharma came down heavily on BJP Government and criticized its leadership for failing to live up to the expectations of the common masses. He alleged that BJP befooled them by giving hollow slogans and promises.
Manohar said during BJP’s tenure everything is getting lost like employment avenues, water from handpumps, sugar from ration depots and many more. He further said due to anti-youth policies of BJP Govt, youth of the country and especially district Kathua have suffered the worst as no new employment opportunity was provided .
The DCC leader pitched for district status for Billawar and Basohli areas of Kathua district and also pressed for delimitation of constituencies before assembly elections. Manohar said that long time ago, transformer repair workshop was inaugurated in Billawar but questioned that if the workshop is functioning then why the transformers are being send to Kathua for repairs and take months for return.
Sharma further said that majority of roads under PMGSY are pending. To name a few, he said work has not moved an inch on Golthal Ramkote road and Billawar Circular road in past 7-8 months and said major chunk of payments are pending in MGNREGA which is forcing the contractors and workers to live miserable life.
DCC chief questioned the reason for the stopping of tourism projects for Sukrala Mata and Balasundri Shrine and also lambasted the government for failing to pay salaries to the Pujaris of the shrines. He requested Lt Governor to fill the vacant vacancies lying in various departments on priority basis to cater the rising problem of unemployment.
