JAMMU, Nov 28: Former minister and PCC vice president Raman Bhalla has lashed out at the Government agencies for carrying out demolition drive near Jammu Airport at Satwari, without proper rehabilitation of the people whose houses were damaged.
Bhalla who visited the localities affected by yesterday’s eviction action taken by the authorities last evening during inclement weather on Wednesday questioned the action without rehabilitating the affected families who were seeking developmental facilities and adequate compensation to settle at alternate sites offered by the Government. He criticized the indifferent attitude adopted by the authorities in the matter and expressed solidarities with families.
Congress leader regretted that BJP has failed to take care of the genuine issues of different sections of the society and fulfill different vital commitments with the people especially of Jammu region who had pinned great hopes after huge mandate to BJP. He said that one after another step goes against the interests of common people and people feel betrayed from BJP for ignoring their interests.
He questioned the double standards of BJP forward the National heroes like Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi, as BJP Member Parliament Pragya Thakur has insulted Gandhi Ji by praising his assassin, Nathu Ram Godse. It is not first time that such comments were made by her which hurt the national sentiments. Those promoting and encouraging such elements are doing great disservice to the nation and the Father of Nation.
He said BJP has dual standards on the issue of supremacy of constitution and democracy and its core values, as is reflected time and again and more recently in the case of Maharashtra. The BJP misused the power at the Centre to get a minority Government led by BJP sworn in a hush hush manner thus trampling the Constitution. However, the Supreme Court restored the supremacy of Constitution on 70th year of Constitution Day, as a result the BJP led Government had to resign without facing floor test in the Assembly which clearly demonstrated that BJP lacked majority but still tried to grab power.
