Srinagar, Nov 2: Score of parents today staged protest demonstration against privately-run schools for demanding transport charges from them for the months of lock-down since August, while terming it ‘unjust’.
The parents while talking to media persons in Press Enclave said that they cannot afford to pay the transport charges, as is being demanded by the school administration.
They said that if the administration has directed the schools not to charge transport fees from the parents for the period of lock-down, how they can pressurize them to pay the same.

“Majority of the schools have waived off the transport charges, we appeal the heads of other schools not to charge us something which is unjust,” a parent said, adding that he also appeals the administration to look into the matter in order to do the needful in this regard.
The parents, while demanding implementation of the Government order with regard to the waiving off of the transport charges said that the administration should be keeping a check whether its order is being followed or not.
“We are ready to pay the tuition fee, rather, we have already paid that, but demanding transport charges from us is something which should not happen, even when the Government has issued clear-cut instructions in this regard,” the parents said.
The parents also alleged that the school authorities are avoiding meeting them and every time they visited the school, they were being asked to deposit the transport fees without any delay.
