KATHUA Oct 14: In a decisive action against drug menace, team of Police Station, Kathua seized six grams of heroin like substance along with cash worth Rs 61000/- and arrested a notorious drug peddler involved in sale of drugs in the area.
Team deployed in Police Outpost, Chak Drab Khan led by ASI, Parshotam Singh, incharge Outpost under the supervision of Majid Mehboob, Dy.SP Headquarters, Kathua during checking and patrolling duty apprehended a notorious drug peddler namely Kapil Kumar, S/o Subash Chand, R/o Badala Kathua and seized six grams of heroin like substance along with Rs 61000 cash in his illegal possession. The accused was on way to sell it among youths of the area.
Police Station, Kathua registered a case FIR No. 327/19 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act against the accused. Further investigation into the case is going on.
Kathua police is striving hard and taking every possible step to make people especially youth aware to eradicate drug menace. “We request people of the area to come forward and share information about drug peddling or consumption of drugs with Police for the cause. The identity of such people will be kept confidential”, a handout issued by Kathua police said.
