JAMMU, Oct 11: District Jail Kathua observed World Mental Health Day under the aegis of Pawan dev Kotwal, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (principal District & Sessions Judge) Kathua.
The programme was organized by Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Kathua, Aarti Mohan. A team of doctors comprising Dr Mukal Ubbut (Physician Specialist), Dr Arun, Dr Rameshwar and Dr Vishal from District Hospital Kathua participated in the programme.
While speaking on the occasion, Dr Mukal Ubbut explained the prisoners about importance of mental health and apprised them of various mental illnesses and their affects on their lives. He also focused on the relation between physical and mental health and co-occurring disorders. Sumit Jasrotia and Neeraj Kumar, retainer lawyers also attended the programme.
Besides this, Tehsil Legal Services Committees, Hiranagar, Basholi and Billawar also organized programmes on World Mental Health Day at village Chhakra (Hiranagar), Sub District Hospital Basohli and Sub District Hospital Billawar, respectively.
Meanwhile, Mount Litera Zee School, Tarore organized a two-day medical health checkup camp on in collaboration with Digilooks Health Care for its students from Grade Nursery to Grade IX. The main objective behind organizing this camp was to check the physical health of an individual Mount Literan related to dental, height, weight, ENT and eyes as well as general health. A full team of doctors namely Dr Tirath Singh, Dr Sonia, Dr Mehak Gupta, Dr Rakesh Sharma and Sister Anu Rani being specialized from their respective field checked and observed each individual and advised some tips to them to remain fit and healthy.
