Best Book Prize from Delhi Urdu Academy to Betab’s Sargoshiyan

JAMMU, Mar 12: Brij Nath Betab’s book Sargoshiyan has been selected for the Best Book Prize by the Delhi Urdu Academy.
This was stated in a press release issued by Academy from New Delhi today. It said the decision to this effect was taken at a joint meeting of the Sub Committee on Award and Culture and the Executive Committee of the Academy presided over by its vice chairman Padmashri Akhtarul Wasey, who is a renowned scholar and Head of Department of Islamic Studies, Zakir Hussian Institute of Islamic Studies at Jamia Milia Islamia, New Delhi.
Total 20 books have been selected for the award and the award which consists of prize money, the medal and the certificates to the recipients will be presented to them on March 19 at a function held in Academy premises New Delhi.
Sargoshiyan the third poetry book of Betab is a collection of Urdu Nazams that has been lauded by many Urdu scholars including Dr Hamid Kashmiri and Prof Gopichand Narang.
