SRINAGAR, May 11: Speaker, Legislative Assembly Mohammad Akbar Lone today directed the officers and engineers of PHE Department to formulate a comprehensive Detailed Project Report (DPR) for water supply scheme (WSS) ,Chewa in Sonawari Constituency so that the people of the Chewa area could get adequate drinking water facilities.
This direction was given by the Speaker in a review meeting of officers and engineers convened to discuss status of the ongoing water Supply Scheme (WSS) and other irrigation, Flood control (FC) Schemes of Sonawari constituency here today.
Threadbare discussion was held on status of various schemes which include water supply Schemes Zalpora, Odina, Hakbara and Malpora Tangpora.
Discussing Asham and Pathriporar Gundi Jehangir WS Schemes, Mr. Lone directed the concerned that tenders for reinforcement cement concreting (RCC) work structures should be floated immediately.
It was informed in the meeting that OHT at Natipora and Sadthpora is almost complete. Mr. Lone directed the concerned officers and engineers to utilize the old equipment for construction works at Ferozpora Nallah.
While discussing irrigation sector schemes, the meeting was informed that Gunchipora, Bandipora Yari schemes will be completed by the end of this month. The construction work of Gunddanji Schemes is in progress.
The Speaker directed the irrigation authorities to speed up the pace of work on 6 projects including Zubwon, Babagund Ganastan, Sumbal Canal, Dredgeplot, Mahenpadam and Rambirgrah Pratabgrah costing Rs. 6 crore sanctioned under Accelerated Irrigation Beneficiary Programme (AIBP) and complete them in a stipulated time.
The Speaker directed the concerned to gear up their field functionaries and conduct survey of the constituency and identify the areas where water supply, irrigation & Flood Control schemes are needed. He asked them to prepare the project reports of all defective schemes for their upgradation.
Among others, Commissioner Secretary PHE, B.D. Sharam, Chief Engineer PHE, Kashmir G. R. Zargar, Chief Engineer I&FC, Muzaffar Lanker and other officers and Engineers of Bandipora district attended the meeting.
