JAMMU, Sept 24: Former minister and senior BJP leader Choudhary Sukhnandan today formally kick started slab work of two community halls at Mohalla Sach Khand and Ranjeetpur in the Gole Gujral area of Marh constituency.
The works are being completed at an estimated cost of Rs 51.00 lakh and Rs 21.00 lakh, respectively under Shyama Prashad Mukherjee R- Urban Mission (SPMRM).
Speaking on the occasion, Choudhary Sukhnandan highlighted the achievements and initiatives of the Modi Government, which launched a number of schemes for upliftment of people and developmental works. He also threw light on the works started under R-urban Mission, which was launched in 2016 to transform rural areas to economically, socially and physical sustainable spaces and trigger overall development in the region. Under the scheme, Cluster villages will be developed by provisioning of economic activities and providing infrastructural amenities, he added.
The BJP leader further said that the Modi Government at the Centre was keen enough to develop each nook and corner of the Jammu and Kashmir. He stressed that the revocation of Article 370 and 35 A would begin a new era of development and progress in Jammu and Kashmir.
S Amarjeet Singh, president of Gurudwara Prabandak Committee and S Narinder Singh, general secretary of the GPC also spoke on the occasion. S Preetpal Singh, Sarpanch Gole Gujral, Raghubir Singh, Sarpanch Bhadrore, S Harjeet Singh, Sarpanch Chattha Gujran and other prominent people of the area were present in the function.
