JAMMU, Sept 9: Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) activists along with traders, transporters, residents of Amphalla, New Plot, Janipur, Roop Nagar and Bantalab here today staged a protest demonstration against the implement of the new Motor Vehicle (MV) Act in J&K.
The protest was led by JWAM leader, Sunil Dimple who appealed to the Governor, Satya Pal Malik and his Advisor K.K Sharma for not implementing the new MV Act in J&K as there are heavy fines under it and the majority public in the State is poor.
He also demanded construction of Metro train and four way circular Ring Road from Amphalla-Manda to Janipur High Court and Akhnoor.
Dimple appealed to the Governor to withdraw 9 per cent Road Tax and RTO fee imposed on the vehicles.
He said that JWAM has sent its resolution of demands to the DG of Police, Dilbag Singh; Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma and DC Jammu, Sushma Chauhan in this regard.
Prominent among protestors were Shiv Pal Singh, Raja, Purshotam Singh, Rajinder Kumar, Bachan Lal, Yash Sharma, S. Joginder Singh, Chander Pal Gupta and others.
