LEH, July 29: The Project Director, Kargil Renewable Energy Development Agency, Kacho Ahmad Khan, also known as (Energy Man of Ladakh) has been awarded with this year’s Kargil Gaurav Award by Sharhad Pune.
The Award was conferred to Kacho for his outstanding contribution in the field of Renewable Energy in Kargil and exemplary commitment to strengthen the relationship between Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh and the rest of the India. The award was presented by former Home Minister Shushil Kumar Shinde in presence of Lt Gen D S Hooda, Lt Gen Moti Dhar and Ravi Dastane and other guest at Bal Gandharva Rangmandir, Shivaji Nagar, Pune.
While interacting with the audience, Kacho Ahmad Khan told that 20 years have gone by and Kargil wore a different face today but there are various difficulties and his agency is trying to reduce these difficulties by providing electrifying villages in Kargil.
He further added that Kargil is a peaceful place today but is still backward and urged fellow Indians to visit this beautiful place and contribute towards improving health care, education, and other basic facilities for local residents and the region.
Its pertinent to mention here that the contribution of Kacho Ahmad Khan can be judged by the marvellous projects of Bairas Drass which is running in -43 from last two years.
