JAMMU, July 25: Former Minister and Ex-MLA Jammu West, Sat Sharma (CA) started construction works of lane at Sarwal area of Ward 18 near J&K Bank today.
Sharma was accompanied by Corporator Ward 18, Dinesh Gupta, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) officials and many others including inhabitants of Ward, social and political activists of the area.
The funds for construction of lane were sanctioned through Constituency Development Fund (CDF) scheme of former MLA which was sanctioned during his tenure and its work was delayed due to code of conduct of elections and other reasons, but the work was taken up as soon as the process got cleared. The works will be constructed under the supervision of JMC.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that Jammu West has progressed a lot and in nearly last five years, the infrastructural development pertaining to roads, setting up of new transformers, replacing old water pipes with fresh ones, construction of community halls, up gradation works of cremation grounds, construction of lanes and drains and other works were kept on priority in all 26 wards of Jammu West. It is the result of same that crores of rupees were spent in each and every ward of Assembly segment which has led to a big change towards modernization of Constituency in every aspect.
Dinesh Gupta complimented the former MLA for his pro active approach and stated that Ward 18 has been equipped with all modern infra and that is with the help of former MLA who is still working 24X7 in order to provide best possible services to masses. He also stated that pending works in the Ward are kept on priority and will be taken up in coming days.
Sharma along with the Corporator and locals also toured other adjoining areas in the Ward as well and asked the concerned officials to prepare the estimates for pending works in the area so that their works can also be taken up soon in order to avoid public distress.
JE JMC, SK Bhat, Sangeeta Gupta, Uttam Kohli, Jia Lal Gupta, Anil Khanna, Jaswinder Kour Jassi, Anu, Reetiz Khajuria, Narinder, Kailash Sharma Karan and several others were also present.
