JAMMU, Mar 2: A civilian was killed and another injured when the bullets at two different firing ranges of Army in Akhnoor tehsil hit them today.
Reports said 40 years old Charan Dass son of Beli Ram, a resident of Lower Kalan in Khour area of Akhnoor tehsil was reportedly collecting scrap from near Kalan firing range when the bullets in Army practice firing range hit him. He reportedly died on spot.
The injured was shifted to the local hospital, where he was declared as dead.
In another incident, a 25 years old youth Mushtaq Ahmad son of Mirza Ahmed, a resident of village Kaleeth in Akhnoor tehsil, was also hit by a bullet in Kaleeth Army firing range and was injured.
He has been admitted in Akhnoor hospital, where he was responding to the treatment.
