UDHAMPUR, July 4: The people held protest against Power Development Department (PDD) and Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department at Indira Nagar and Londana here.
Large number of people including women of Indira Nagar and Londana held protest against the PDD and PHE Department.
The protestors alleged that PHE Department has failed to provide regular drinking water to them. They said that for the past one month there is no supply of drinking water in their areas, which created manifold problems for them.
“We took up the matter with the concerned authorities several times, but nothing has been done till today, which forced us to come on road”, they added.
They also said that PDD is not taking any steps to overcome low voltage issue. “We are facing problems due to low voltage in the ongoing hot weather conditions, but PDD is not taking any steps to overcome this issue”, they added.
“Due to non-availability of drinking water and low voltage, we are facing manifold problems, but PDD and PHE Department remained unmoved till today”, the protestors said, adding that due to negligent behaviour of PDD and PHE Department, they were forced to come on road.
With the warning to intensify their protest if their issues remained unattended, the protestors dispersed.
